“Finally, an optimistic view of the capabilities of today’s teenagers. Sharon and Maureen have created a simple and powerful program driven by students for other students. “I am a big fan of the Bridges to Safety Program. It was easy to incorporate into my classroom, and I’ve seen what a change it has made with my students, both interpersonally and academically.”

Patty McNally, Teacher, Ocean Shore School

“The social and emotional lessons of Bridges to Safety are vital. Every school should teach these important skills, and it’s wonderful to see a program where teens and parents are working together to bring them to the elementary school. This volume has very practical resources that will be an important aid to teachers, parents and teens.”

Jonathan Cohen, Ph.D. President, Center for Social and Emotional Education (CSEE); Adjunct Professor in Psychology and Education, Teachers College, Columbia University.
